I started BTYT with you in mind. I wanted to create affordable designer fabrics and trims that were exquisitely unique. You see, I designed clothes for over a decade and the biggest challenge for me was finding fabrics that inspired my mind. I wanted textiles that gave me spark and I rarely found them. Maybe because my aesthetic taste can be quite eccentric? I started creating my own textiles over the years, but never really cared to share them. By starting this shop, I can now finally share proud pieces designed by BTYT. I am so excited to announce our first Hmong inspired floral soft tulle fabric. Organic Art Meets Symmetry This beautiful Hmong inspired purple flower fabric was inspired by my traditional Hmong clothes. From my observation and studies on textiles, what I learned is that my Hmong people used whatever they had on hand to create their unique costumes for the New Year. We later adopted the famous floral pattern. I love everything organic with pearls and wanted to create a textile that was close but not exactly like the floral design one would see used in our traditional clothes (the woven polyester fabrics with metallic flowers). I can see many designers using this floral design for new and modern Hmong inspired outfits. I made sure to include our popular heart motif in our flocked fabric design. This purple Hmong inspired flower fabric is perfect for modern and traditional attire--use it as a back drop for your wedding or veil!!! I hope my purple flocked fabric sparks that creativity in you to create your next masterpiece.
